Statesboro Police Department

Officers investigated 32 automobile accidents over the weekend. Information on other incidents was unavailable Monday.

 

Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office

BENNETT GROOMS ROAD — A woman said her boyfriend became angry after reading text conversations on her phone and broke it. He also yanked a shower curtain down while she showered and shoved her into a wall, she said.

EAST GEORGIA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER — Deputies spoke with a woman who appeared to have been struck by a car or dragged across pavement. She said the last thing she recalled was being near Savannah with her boyfriend and taking a walk down a street.  The boyfriend told deputies he and the victim had been asleep in a car and he awakened to find her gone. He said he found her down the road, injured. The victim became noncompliant and told deputies she did not wish to talk about the incident. The man also refused to comply and left the room, and did not return.

G.W. OLIVER SPUR — Deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute where one offender threatened to burn the other’s clothes. There were claims that one offender struck the other’s car with his, but there was no evidence of any collision.

PARKER’S ENZONE — Deputies assisting with Georgia Southern University’s homecoming dispersed a crowd at the store. One man was noncompliant, yelling obscenities and refusing to leave. He resisted arrest when taken into custody.

IRON GATE SUBDIVISION — A woman told deputies a cab driver asked whether her breasts were real and then grabbed them. Then, he exposed himself and asked whether she could “handle it.” She said they arrived at her destination and she jumped out and fled.

Officers issued three traffic citations, five   traffic warnings and assisted eight motorists.

Troopers investigated 26 crashes with  11 reported injuries and no reported fatalities.

Troopers also issued 20 seat belt citations and five seat belt warnings; two child restraint citation; speeding citations and 32 speeding warnings;
