A man found guilty Monday on two counts of selling alcohol without a license was arrested after court on a warrant for selling tobacco without a license.

All three violations took place over the past eight months at Coco’s Lounge on West Main Street, according to Statesboro Police Community Information Specialist Madison Warren.

Aaron James Trimble, 35, was found guilty during Statesboro Municipal Court Monday on charges that in August, and again in October, he was caught selling alcohol at the lounge without being licensed, she said.

But before Trimble could appear in court on those charges, the Georgia Department of Revenue conducted an undercover sting at Coco’s Lounge in early March, acting on tips Trimble was continuing to sell alcohol without a license, said a Georgia Department of Revenue agent who asked not to be named.

Revenue agents did not find illegal alcohol sales that night, but did discover Trimble was selling access to hookahs where patrons paid to smoke tobacco from the smoking devices,  the agent said.

Since Trimble was not immediately located, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Warren said police served the warrant after Trimble was sentenced in court on the alcohol violation charges Monday.

According to Statesboro Municipal Court records, Trimble was found guilty on both alcohol violation charges, and fined $455, plus given probation for 12 months.

After court, he was taken to the Bulloch County Jail on the tobacco violation charges, where he remained Tuesday with a $2,000 bond, according to jail records.
