A Statesboro man has been charged in the stabbing death of his son during a domestic dispute Monday.
James William Harvey, 45, of Longwood Drive, is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Savannah revealed that Eric Brennon Harvey, 27, of Lee Road in Pembroke, died from injuries sustained in the stabbing incident that took place at his father’s Longwood Drive home, Anderson said.
The death was ruled a homicide.
Anderson did not release further details about the incident except to say that alcohol was involved.
Eric Harvey was taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center on Monday, where he died.
James Harvey was taken into custody after deputies interviewed witnesses at the scene and “determined that the facts of the death differed from the facts provided to Bulloch County 911 when the initial call was dispatched,” Anderson said.
James Harvey is being held without bond in the Bulloch County Jail.
