Crews completed their work in restoring power on the Excelsior EMC grid Thursday. EMC spokesman Greg Brooks said all members whose homes were ready for power restoration were back online.

“There will be a small number of outages to members who are waiting for electrical repairs to their home before the cooperative can safely reconnect power,” he said Thursday. “Additionally, trees and limbs weakened or damaged by the hurricane may continue to fall and cause interruptions over the next few days.”
This is likely the explanation for power outages experienced by some customers who had their service restored, only to find it out again Thursday evening.

“It is also likely that line technicians will continue to find problems that have not yet been discovered,” he said. “These problems are not currently causing outages, but in some cases, power may have to be temporarily shut off while repairs are made.”

Customers are asked to consider these circumstances and know that all efforts are being made to solve the problems.

"Your patience, understanding and kindness has been overwhelming," said EMC CEO Greg Proctor. "Thank you for your support as together, we made it through the largest outage in Excelsior EMC's history."
