Statesboro's First United Methodist Church Troop #332 held an Eagle Scout Ceremony for John Manack, Taylor Burke, Taylor Morgan and Blake Thompson on Dec. 9. The ceremony was held in the church’s sanctuary and was well attended.
    After the ceremony, a reception was held in their honor. The four were able to visit with family and friends, with some coming great lengths to attend. The highlight of the reception was a giant cake made by Susan McGlamery that had the Boy Scout Eagle emblem made from icing. The four presented Charles Houston & Ed Cone a Plaque that displays all of the Eagle Scouts of Troop #332 from 1959 to present.
    Each of the young men had to complete more than 325 different tasks before receiving their Eagle. In addition to earning the various merit badges, each boy had to complete an Eagle Scout project. The projects consisted of the following: Outdoor Classroom (Brooklet Elementary); Outdoor Classroom (Boys & Girls Club of Bulloch County); Landscaping (Joseph Home for Boys); Irrigation & Grassing (Joseph’s Home for Boys).  Along with many hours from volunteers, the boys had more than 500 Service Hours and had Property Improvements of more than $10,000.
