City schedules work meetings on budget, alcohol ordinance

Statesboro City Council has a work session on the city budget scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday. A work session on an overhaul of the Alcoholic Beverages Ordinance will follow a regular meeting on May 6.Both working meetings will be open to the public.Council members referred to Monday’s meeting as the annual “budget retreat,” but they will retreat no further than their usual chambers at City Hall. They will meet there on two consecutive days, because this month’s second regular meeting is still scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.Alcoholic beveragesAt last week’s regular meeting, council members set May 6 as the date for a work session on an overhaul of the alcoholic beverages ordinance that has been mentioned several times previously.
