Farm Bureau president to speak in Boro
Zippy Duvall to address annual Agribusiness Luncheon

      Zippy Duvall, president of the Georgia Farm Bureau, will be the featured speaker during the annual Agribusiness Luncheon sponsored by the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce. The luncheon is set for noon on Thursday, March 19 at R.J.'s Steakery Restaurant.
       Duvall was elected president of Georgia Farm Bureau in December 2006.
       A third generation Greene County dairyman, Duvall retired from the dairy business in 2005. He and his wife of 27 years, Bonnie, now operate a 150-brood cow beef operation, produce and sell quality hay and are poultry producers. Duvall currently serves on the Greene County Farm Bureau board of directors and has held numerous leadership positions in the county Farm Bureau including president and vice president.
       In 1985, Zippy and Bonnie served as chairmen of the Georgia Farm Bureau Young Farmer Committee and in 1987, Zippy was named chairman of the American Farm Bureau Young Farmer Committee. Zippy was elected to the Georgia Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2002, representing the fourth district. In addition to serving as president of Georgia Farm Bureau Federation and its affiliate companies, he is a member of the board of directors of the American Farm Bureau and Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company based in Jackson, Miss.
       Zippy and Bonnie have four children: Zellie is a senior in high school; Zeb is at the University of Georgia; Corrie is working on her doctorate degree; and Vince, his wife, Erin, and the newest member of the family, granddaughter Ava Madison Duvall, live in south Alabama. The Duvalls are members of New Hope Baptist Church.
