A Statesboro man has been arrested in connection with the July 8 robbery of a truck stop, according to the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.
James Kelsey Rock Jr., 26, of Reed Street, was apprehended by authorities in Florida, the sheriff's office said in a news release issued Tuesday.
Bulloch County deputies responded to Buddy's Truck Stop, in the 8700 block of U.S. Highway 301 South, at 11:49 p.m. July 8, in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.
During the course of the investigation, sheriff's Investigator Dusty Williams identified Rock as the suspect who robbed the store clerk, the news release says.
Warrants were issued charging Rock with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
After an extensive search, authorities in Florida located and arrested Rock, the release says.
He was extradited back to Bulloch County, where he remains without bond at the Bulloch County Jail. According to jail records, Rock was booked at 3:01 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, Rock was released from prison Aug. 17, 2012, after serving a sentence on a burglary conviction from Bulloch County.
