Brooklet teen charged with rape
Sheriff: More charges may be pending
Beau Stephens McKinney

A Brooklet teen is being held without bond in the Bulloch County Jail on charges of rape.

Further charges are pending, said Bulloch County Sheriff Noel Brown.

After meeting with the victim Sunday, deputies arrested Beau Stephens McKinney, 17, of McElveen Kendrick Pond Road, Brooklet, he said.

Investigators responded Sunday around 7 p.m. to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, speaking with the victim before she was taken to the Statesboro Regional Sexual Assault Center, where an examination was conducted. The victim said the assault happened at a private residence, and she knew her attacker, he said.

“Based on the statements provided by the victim, the evidence collected by the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, and other evidence obtained during the investigation, Beau McKinney has been charged with rape,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Inv. John Quattlebaum at 764-1785
