Working with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team arrested three trafficking suspects and confiscated a large quantity of marijuana and  Schedule I narcotics.

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, starting in November members of the Crime Suppression Team were involved with the DEA in an investigation of subjects trafficking suspected narcotics across the United States.

After approximately a month’s long investigation it was discovered that

Taylor Jackson of Ellabell and Steven Kimbrell of Ludowici were traveling to Los Angles to purchase large amounts of narcotics. After the purchase was completed, the narcotics were being transported back to Bulloch County for sale and distribution.

After multiple agencies tracking and surveilling Jackson and Kimbrell across the country, it was discovered that more than 150 pounds of marijuana and Schedule I narcotics were to be delivered to Statesboro on Dec. 12, according to the release.

“The vehicle owned and operated by the two subjects was intercepted inside the city of Statesboro by the Crime Suppression Team along with the assistance of DEA Special Agents,” the release stated.

Jackson was taken into custody along with another man identified as John Shannon of Ellabell. Kimbrell was located two days later in the area of Long County, where he was taken into custody by Long County Sheriff’s Office deputies and transported back to Bulloch County.

All three subjects are in the Bulloch County Jail where they await court proceedings.

In the release, Sheriff Noel Brown said he would like to thank the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Department of Homeland Security and Long County Sheriff’s Office for their efforts, cooperation and assistance throughout this investigation.
