Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anthony "Biff" Thompson of Statesboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Vivian Amanda Thompson, to Shane David Scott, son of Mrs. Niki Ansley Scott Fields of Portal, Ga., and the late Raymond O'neil Scott of Brooklet, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harmon Aldred Jr. of Statesboro, Ga., Mrs. Ann Thompson and the late Mr. Myron Thompson of Bremen, Ga. She is a 1997 graduate of Statesboro High School and received her BA in Journalism from The University of Mississippi in 2002, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She is currently the owner of The Belle House in Statesboro.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Scott of Leefield, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ansley of Statesboro, Ga. He is a 1993 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and received a BS in Natural and Cultural Resource Management from Georgia Southern University in 1998, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is currently the president of Leefield Logistics, LLC of Statesboro and co-owner of Palmetto Sweet Onions of South Carolina.
The wedding is planned for February 18, 2012, at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Statesboro.
