Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Rushing III of Statesboro, Georgia, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Lauren, to Hobart Leslie Manley IV, son of Mr. Hobart Leslie Manley III of Savannah, Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas H. Ryder of Statesboro, Georgia.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward “Eddie” Rushing Jr. of Statesboro, as well as Mr. William L. Garner and the late Mrs. Irma W. Garner of Marietta, Georgia. Katie is a 2003 graduate of Bulloch Academy and attended Georgia Southern University, where she became a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She graduated from Georgia Southern in 2009, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She is currently employed by Performance Auction & Realty and Southeastern Auto Auction.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Leslie Manley Jr., Mrs. Evelyn Kearns and the late Mr. Charles Richard Macgill of Savannah, Georgia. Hobie is a 2004 graduate of Jenkins High School and a 2009 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a Bachelor of Science in General Studies. He now works in property management on Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Charleston, South Carolina.
    The wedding will be held at the Old Sheldon Church Ruins in Yemassee, South Carolina, on April 28th, 2012, at 5:00 in the evening, with the reception to follow at The Beaufort Inn in Beaufort, South Carolina.
