Mr. and Mrs. Terry McCorkle of Claxton announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara McCorkle of Statesboro, to Brandon Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Russell.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lemmon and Marjorie McCorkle of Claxton and Louise Neal and the late Virgil Neal of Twin City. Sara is a 2013 honor graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy. She continued her education at Georgia Southern University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. She is currently employed as a mortgage officer at Bulloch First Bank.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Delina Brown and the late Walton Brown of Statesboro and the late Joseph and Henrietta Russell of Savannah. Brandon is a 2003 graduate of Statesboro High School. He is currently employed at Evans General Contractors of Savannah as an estimator.

Together, they attend Grace Community Church in Statesboro.

The couple is planning to wed on April 8, 2023, during a private ceremony with family.

A reception will follow at a later date and formal invitations will be sent.
