Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Counts of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Renata Elizabeth of Atlanta, to Marion McWhirter "Mac" Jones, son of Mrs. Pam Jones and the late Mr. Chip Jones of Buford, Ga.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. L.H. Bullock and the late Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Counts. A 2006 graduate of Bulloch Academy, Renata is a 2010 graduate of North Carolina State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in business administration, and she received her Juris Doctor in 2013 from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is employed by Chubb Insurance in Alpharetta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Frances McWhirter and the late Mr. James McWhirter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Otis Jones. Mac is a 2005 graduate of Buford High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Science in marketing. He is employed with Heraeus, Atlanta.

The couple is planning to wed on July 3, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at the Westin Resort in Savannah.
