Mrs. Cheryl Rogers and the late Waldo D. "Punky" Rogers of Nevils announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Leigh of Nevils, to Elijah Laurace Perkins of Nevils, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Perkins of Wright, Wyo.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Hazel Rogers and the late Norwood Rogers of Claxton and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Robert Holland of Nevils. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leland Ellis Haygood of Nevils and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sample Holland of Register and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dave Jernigan and the late Mr. and Mrs. Pharis Rogers of Manassas. Anna is a 2007 graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy in Bellville and is currently attending Ogeechee Technical College and will be receiving a degree in Surgical Technology in September 2009.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Gloria E. Hoch and the late Johnny P. Hoch of Brooklet and Mrs. Marguerite S. Perkins and the late Bennie Laurace Perkins of Brooklet. He is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bell of Brooklet and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hoch of Lacona, Iowa, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Shuman of Stilson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Perkins of Statesboro. Elijah is a 2002 graduate of Wright Junior/Senior High School in Wright, Wyo. He is a 2004 graduate of Ogeechee Technical College, earning a degree in Welding. He is currently employed with Georgia Pacific Corporation in Rincon.
The couple has planned to wed on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Lawrence Baptist Church in Pembroke.
