Amy Elizabeth Mayes and Phillip Daniel Scroggin were united in marriage on Saturday, October 18th, 2008, at 4 p.m. in the Octagon House at Partin Park in Lyons, Ga.
The bride is the daughter of Buster and Ellen Akins of Lyons. The groom is the son of Frank and Rebecca Scroggin of Savannah.
The Rev. Dannie Williams performed the double-ring ceremony. Music was provided by Jeff Scoggins and Miranda Akins, sister-in-law of the bride, was the soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her daughter, Anna Mayes, as her maid of honor and Brooke Scroggin, daughter of the groom, as her bridesmaid.
The groom chose his son, Phillip Scroggin, as his best man and David Scroggin, also a son, as his groomsman. The flower girl was Ansley Akins, niece of the bride; and the ring bearer was Austin Akins, nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony and reception, the couple left for a honeymoon trip to Florida.
The couple now resides at Savannah Highlands in Pooler, Ga.
