Firozan Farrokhnia of McLean, Va., and Lane Barrett of Fairfax, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Shea Farrokhnia, to Jason Paul Talcott, son of Bill and Pauline Talcott of Bluffton, S.C., formerly of Statesboro.

            The bride-elect is an honor graduate of Robinson Secondary School in Burke, Va., and graduated, magna cum laude, from George Mason University with a degree in Government and International Affairs. She is employed by the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria, Va., as an information management specialist.

            The groom-elect is the grandson of Bill and Joyce Talcott of Lawrenceville, Ga., and the late Paul and Polly Hunnicutt of Statesboro. He is a graduate of Statesboro High School and served in the United States Marine Corps with a special duty assignment on Embassy duty. He is employed by the Boeing Company in Herndon, Va., as an industrial security specialist.

            The couple has planned to wed on November 8, 2008, at 5 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Va. The reception will follow at the Ft. Myer Officer’s Club in Ft. Myer, Va.
