Mandy Hannah Cruse and Phillip Wesley Hulsey were united in marriage on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Robbins Nest in Statesboro. Dr. John Waters of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.
Mandy is the daughter of Randy and Trisha Cruse of Griffin, Ga., and Tony and Sandy Westberry of Odum, Ga. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam J. Wilcox of  Macon and Mr. and Mrs. Comelous G. Cruse of Griffin.
Wes is the son of Gary and LaRita Hulsey of Statesboro and is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Hulsey of Portal, and Carolynn Phillips and the late Elmer Phillips of Statesboro.
The pergola was decorated with four columns holding Grecian urns overflowing with all white glads, snaps, calla lilies, hydrangeas, white mountain lilies and white roses, variegated pittaporsin, huckleberry, ivy and springier ferns. The aisle had 10 columns with urns matching the larger arrangements. Large Boston ferns banked the pergola. A white bird cage holding two white doves was placed near the aisle. It was decorated on top and inside with corresponding flowers. The front of the Robbins Nest had ivory satin bows on lanterns. On each side of the door were two candelabras with swags of white flowers.
Mandy was given in marriage by her father, Randy Cruse, and stepfather, Tony Westberry.
Mandy chose her first cousin, April Watson of Augusta, to be her maid of honor. Other bridesmaids were Katie Blocker and Lorien Jones of Jesup and Stephanie Altman of Statesboro.
The bridesmaids carried bouquets of mixed orange, yellow and chocolate roses.
The flower girl was niece of the bride, Makenna Nix of Warner Robbins.
Wes chose his father, Gary Hulsey, to be the best man. The groomsmen were Brent Hulsey, brother of the groom; Brian Hulsey, cousin of the groom; Corey Smith and William Horne. All groom’s attendants are from Statesboro. Dustin Phillips, son of Matt and Katrina Phillips, served as ring bearer. Dustin is first cousin to Wes. Hunter Howard, cousin of the groom, read scripture. Amelia Lee of Jesup was the soloist.
Mandy wore a dress with a sculpted strapless ivory bodice and a dropped waistline that was elaborately adorned with embroidery and crystals that featured a peak empire inset band in champagne. Inverted pleats surrounded the skirt. A wide hemline band also in champagne extends around the chapel-length train. Mandy wore a double layer elbow-length veil of ivory, edged with satin. She carried a hand-wrapped bouquet of ivory miniature calla lilies wrapped in satin.
The guests showered the newlyweds with rose petals as they proceeded to the reception. Each poolside table had a globed candle holder with mixed orange Gerber daisies, berries and roses, covered with brown tablecloths and teal sheer table toppers.
The cake top was adorned with miniature calla-lilies and white miniature roses. Green cymbidium orchids and cascading green grapes adorned the groom’s cake. A bronzed candelabra with a berry topper and green cymbidium orchids completed the table.
Mr. and Mrs. Wes Hulsey honeymooned for a week in Cozumel, Mexico, staying at The Cozumel Palace Resort. They now reside in Statesboro.
