Molly Matis, 22, of Hollywood, Florida, left, and Alexus Scott, 22, of Alpharetta, congratulate one another after they are officially pronounced graduates of Georgia Southern University during the university-wide commencement at Paulson Stadium on May 11.

Georgia Southern University held its spring commencement May 11 at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.

FUBU CEO and entrepreneur Daymond John delivered the commencement address. John is a fashion executive and self-made millionaire, as well as a "Shark Tank" entrepreneur.

“Daymond John is a dynamic business speaker with over 20 years of hands-on proven business experience,” said Carl L. Reiber, Georgia Southern’s provost and vice president for academic affairs. “His pragmatic advice resonates with everyone. He has a relatable story and journey to success that continues to both motivate and inspire.”

The commencement on May 11 was university-wide, recognizing graduates collectively. Each college also held its own ceremony during which graduates from that college were recognized individually. Those ceremonies were held at Hanner Fieldhouse and the Savannah Convention Center on May 10 and 11.
