Hitting the dance floor with the Georgia Southern University dance team brought together 80 local girls, ages pre-K through high school, for a day of instruction, followed by a guest half-time performance. The camp was held Jan. 12.
The annual kids camp, which teaches the girls the basics of choreography and performance, is a fundraiser that helps the GSU dance team participate in the National Dance Association's national competition in Daytona, Florida, to be held this year in April.
The 20 members of the Georgia Southern Dance Team conducted the camp at the Recreation Activity Center at GSU.
The camp culminated with learning a dance routine that campers performed, along with GSU's team, during halftime of the Georgia Southern Eagles basketball game at Hanner Fieldhouse the evening following the camp.
