The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department and Sea Island Bank presented the 2012 Firecracker Fest at Mill Creek Regional Park on Wednesday.
    The free event included games, music and community exhibitions, as well as the traditional Frog Jumping Contest, a Baseball/Softball Skills Contest and the Subway Sub Eating Contest.
    Many Bulloch County residents as well as visitors from surrounding counties gathered in the park to partake in the festivities and watch the festival's finale — the  fireworks show sponsored by Briggs and Stratton.
