The Rev. and Mrs. Dorsia Atkinson of Statesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Danielle Mackenzie Atkinson, to Colby Vance Calhoun, son of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Calhoun of Lyons, Georgia.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ruth Atkinson and the late Dorsia Atkinson Sr. of Landis, North Carolina, the late Jerry Alexander of Landis, and the Rev. and Mrs. Frank Turner of Statesville, North Carolina. Danielle is a graduate of Bulloch Academy and is currently a student of East Georgia State College in Swainsboro.

Colby is the grandson of Barbara Ann Calhoun and the late Don Calhoun of Ailey, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howell Dixon of Vidalia, Georgia. Colby is a graduate of Robert Toombs Christian Academy and East Georgia State College with a degree in biology. He is employed with Hatch Nuclear Power Plant in Baxley, Georgia.

The couple is planning to wed Oct. 13, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. at Pittman Park United Methodist Church.
