Annual rally pumps up the crowds for upcoming season

It's official — football season is almost here. 

The annual F1RST Friday Downtown Pep Rally, held last Friday, marked the winding down of summer and the beginning of football season. On hand for the event were marching bands and cheerleaders, along with the football teams from Portal, Statesboro and Southeast Bulloch high schools.

The event was sponsored by Statesboro Natural Gas and the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.
