Tormenta FC will face USL Championship team, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, in a preseason match this Saturday, February 23 at 5:00 pm at Erk Russell Park. This is fan’s first opportunity to watch the squad together in action.

The Tampa Bay Rowdies will make Statesboro their preseason home for four days. The USL Championship team will train at the Tormenta FC training grounds and will also play a preseason game against the Georgia Southern University men’s soccer team.

"We are excited to host one of the country’s oldest professional soccer franchises,” USL League One head coach John Miglarese said. “Having them come to Statesboro is a great opportunity for both clubs to share ideas and prepare for the upcoming season through our friendly matches. This will be a beneficial time for all us."

This is Tormenta FC’s only preseason match open to the public. Season ticket holders receive entrance to the friendly, while non-season ticket members can purchase general admission tickets for $5 and VIP tickets for $20. All students will get in for $1.

"Tormenta FC is a great organization with a nice set-up in Statesboro, so we're excited to bring our team there this week," Rowdies head coach Niell Collins said. "It will be a good opportunity for our players to get out of their normal environment and bond together as a family."

"We appreciate Tormenta FC's hospitality, and we're looking forward to a great match on Saturday," Collins said.

After playing Tampa Bay, Tormenta FC will continue its preseason lineup at home against college teams Lander University, University of South Carolina, Mercer University and Georgia Southern University a second time. The club then concludes its preseason away on March 22 against USL Championship team Charleston Battery.

Tormenta FC will then open the 2019 USL League One season at home on March 29 at 7 PM against Greenville Triumph SC.
