Yellow Jackets roll over Dodge County
DODGE

BROOKLET — The high-flying Southeast Bulloch offense was in full effect Friday night as it rolled to a 4-1 win over Dodge County at Fred Shaver Field.
Sophomore forward Doug Flott extended his team scoring lead and gave the Indian defense headaches all night as he recorded two goals and an assist.
“Tonight was one of our better performances,” said SEB coach Bob Massee. “We finally found the feet of our own players with our passing and made it pay off with some goals.”
Patrick Chambers got the scoring going in the eighth minute as Flott dribbled deep into the box. Dodge goalkeeper Grey Kitner came out of his net and Chambers easily put away Flott’s feed.
Two quick passes covered two-thirds of the field for the Yellow Jackets’ second goal.
Ryan Howell gained possession in the SEB end and sent a long pass to Chambers. Chambers saw Flott breaking free and, with one quick touch, led him into the open. Flott dribbled in the final 10 yards before beating Kitner with a hard shot to his right.
Cole Honeycut connected from 20 yards out to pull the Indians within 2-1 just before the half, but the SEB defense locked down over the final 40 minutes of play.
Ty Beggs regained the Jackets’ two-goal advantage, heading in a corner kick in the 46th minute and Chambers found Flott one more time to put the game away in the 57th minute.
With the win, SEB remains right in the thick of the Region 3-AA race as the playoffs draw closer.
“We’ve been preaching to our guys not to settle for anything,” said Massee. “You’ll become whatever you settle for, so we tell our kids to reach for their own expectations and to settle for nothing less.”

Lady Jackets 4, Lady Indians 0
The SEB girls notched a relatively easy 4-0 win over Dodge in Friday’s first game to start off the sweep.
Four different Lady Jackets posted a goal as SEB ran its record to 5-3 on the season — all coming in Region 3-AA play.
SEB controlled from the outset, but couldn’t break through in the early minutes. As the Indian defense started to labor, the Jackets finally took advantage.
Netanya Suarez got the scoring going in the 13th minute and was followed up by Cindy Davis who found the back of the net less than a minute later.
Morgan Friend capped off the outburst in the 23rd minute as she wove through the defense and just beat the Dodge goalkeeper to give the Jackets a commanding 3-0 lead at the half.
With many substitutes getting playing time, the SEB scoring chances diminished in the second half, but the domination in time of possession continued.
The Jackets posted their final tally of the afternoon in the 77th minute when Hannah Denmark raced up the left side and sent a powerful shot screaming into the top of the net for her second career goal.
