JEKYLL ISLAND — The Statesboro Blue Devils carded a tournament win for the first time in seven years, taking down the six-team field at the Johnny Paulk Invitational Saturday at Jekyll Island.
Despite 20-plus-mile-per-hour winds and cold temperatures, the Blue Devils shot a 322. They were led by Cameron Shield, the tournament's low medalist, who shot a 69.
The other Blue Devils in the win were Ethan Mallard, Trevor Daily, Clay Cribbs, Jordan Woody and Sara Jane Bowers.
Statesboro returns to the links Saturday at Burke County's TaylorMade/ADIDAS Invitational.
