SAVANNAH — The Screven County Gamecocks continued in dominating fashion on Thursday, hammering Windsor Forest 36-8 at Memorial Stadium.
The Gamecocks (4-0) held the Windsor Forest offense to 30 carries for only 14 yards.
The Screven offense on the other hand scored all six touchdowns in the first half and didn't waste any time. The Gamecocks scored on drives of 3, 1, 3, 6 and 2 plays.
Malik Prescott rushed 6 times for 55 yards and three touchdowns.
The longest scoring play came when Jeremy Hawkins (3-74) added a 69-yard scoring run, and on a one-play drive, quarterback Donta Wilburn threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Tyquan Johnson.
The SCHS defense didn't just stop the run in its tracks, it also forced three turnovers. J'Tarri Tanksley, Brian Rhodes and Xavier Sheppard all picked off a pass.
Caleb Krulic caught a Wilburn pass to convert a two-point conversion. Jacob Smith hit a pair of extra points.
After a Screven County kickoff, a snap went over the head of Windsor's quarterback and resulted in a safety for the Gamecocks.
Screven opens region play next Friday on the road when it faces Jefferson County in Louisville.
