The Georgia High School Association awarded Statesboro High School the 2013 Region 3-AAAA Cooperative Spirit Sportsmanship Award last month as the organization announced all of the GHSA-member high school winners from its 48 regions within Classes A through AAAAAA. The award recognizes schools that demonstrate exemplary sportsmanship. “As the old adage goes, it's not about whether you win or lose, but how you play the game,” SHS Principal Marty Waters said. “We are always proud to highlight the accomplishments of our students, but I am extremely proud that our community and state have taken note of their conduct.”
