Jackets blank ECI
BROOKLET — Christian Clark scored a goal and added an assist as five different Southeast Bulloch players scored in a 5-0 non-region victory over ECI Wednesday at Fred Shaver Field.
The Yellow Jackets finished the regular season with a 9-6 record and qualified for the state playoffs as the third seed out of Region 3-AA under first-year coach Bob Massee. While playoff pairings won’t be announced until the end of the week, SEB most likely will travel to Nashville next Friday, April 29, to play Berrien County, the two seed out of Region 1.
The Yellow Jackets leading scorer Doug Flott scored about seven minutes into the game after a sharp pass from Clark, a senior playing his final home game. Clark made it 2-0 a few minutes later with a boot into the right side of the goal.
Junior James Jones scored his first goal of the season 10 minutes later to give SEB a 3-0 lead at the half.
Freshman Patrick Chambers scored two minutes into the second half and senior Kirk Brown finished the scoring with a right-footed boot. It was Brown’s first varsity goal of his career.
