Athlete of the Week: Flott's fleet foot leads SEB
IMG 0474

This season, the Southeast Bulloch boys soccer team has its sights set on the postseason.
The Yellow Jackets were forced to endure some adversity last season with a roster that featured almost exclusively underclassmen, but this season sophomore forward Doug Flott heads a returning squad that has one more year of seasoning and is ready to make some noise.
“I think that we’re playing really well together,” said Flott. “I definitely think that we can go places. We just want to focus on each game as it comes, but I think our team is capable of going to state.”
A big reason for those lofty expectations is Flott’s scoring ability. Flott leads all Yellow Jackets with six goals so far this season and is excited to be at the forefront of a potent offensive attack.
“I feel like I’m more experienced this season,” said Flott. “(New SEB coach Bob Massee) has really pushed me to be better. I like the pressure of being a big part of the offense. Dribbling past defenders and hearing the crowd get loud when I’m close to the goal is a big rush.”
Flott and company have an opportunity to get one step closer to the playoffs Friday as SEB hosts Dodge County.
