Bulloch Academy’s Talyor Collins has seen just about everything.
As a star forward, she has started games for the Lady Gators in all four of her playing years. As a sophomore, Collins felt the postseason pressure as she helped the Gators come within a win of a state title. Finally, last season saw her lead Bulloch into the highest classification of GISA competition.
This season, she knows what is at stake.
“I know that this is my last chance,” Collins said. “I’m having a great time and I love our team, but there’s that little extra pressure knowing that I won’t get to do this again.”
Still, Collins is making the most of it. With Bulloch rolling along at 18-4 on the season, Collins was instrumental in Tuesday’s hard-fought win over John Milledge — a foe that had thwarted Bulloch earlier in the season. She scored 12 points to lead the charge for the Gators and keep them in the hunt for the top seed in the upcoming Region 4-AAA tournament.
“This can be a very good team,” Collins said. “We’ve got a lot of talent and experience. We just need to play our best each game.”
