The East division of Region 3-A is one of the most competitive regions in the state for football, but Portal and Claxton managed to place an impressive 22 players on the All-Region squad for the recently-completed season. Leading the way was Claxton quarterback Cornelius Taylor who eared Offensive Player of the Year honors in his first season under center for the Tigers. Claxton offensive lineman Dalton Stewart and Darvis Small — named to the ‘athlete’ slot — made the first string offensive team.
