Eagles third after second round at SoCon

Daniel Island, S.C. — After the second day of the SoCon Championship, the Georgia Southern golf team sits in third place. The Eagles fell two spots after leading the field in day one. Georgia Southern shot 301 Monday, and now sit at 15-over par.

Chattanooga leads the field after the second round. The Mocs shot 286 and are now four-over par heading into the final day. Samford moved up to second place shooting 296 on day two (+13). College of Charleston moved up to fourth place (+17), followed by Furman (+20), Wofford (+21), and Appalachian State (+26) in fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Davidson is in eighth (+27), Elon is ninth (+30), Western Carolina is tenth (+38) followed by UNCG in eleventh (+43).

Stephen Jaeger of Chattanooga continues to lead the individual field going to the final day. Jaeger shot 72 on Monday, which puts him at six-under par for the tournament.

Zach Hartman now leads the Eagles after Monday. Hartman shot a 74 on day two, and now sits in a four-way tie for seventh place at three-over par. Lewis Gruber is now tied for eleventh after shooting 77 on the day (+4). Blake Olson and Scott Wolfes are in an eight-way tie for 14th. Olson shot 75 and Wolfes shot 77 to put them both at five-over par. And Hayden Anderson is in a five-way tie for 40th after shooting 75 on the day, and now sits at ten-over par.

The third round tees off at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday morning. Georgia Southern tees off in the final group, beginning at 9:50 a.m.
