ELON, N.C. — Lucas Bakker tossed a two-hit complete game to help Elon to a 1-0 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles in a pitchers' duel at Latham Park. Elon snapped an eight-game winning streak by GSU. Sebastian Gomez dropped a ball in front of centerfielder Josh Black to score Casey Jones, who singled and stole second base with two outs, for Elon's (12-6, 1-0) lone run in the sixth inning. Bakker held Georgia Southern (15-3, 0-1) hitless through 6.2 innings before allowing a single to Chase Griffin in the seventh inning.
