North Florida held a seven stroke lead entering the final round of competition, but Auburn climbed the leaderboard and took the title with a 3-over par 291 team final outing. The Auburn Tigers won the 31st Annual Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational with an aggregated 862 (-2) for their first title in tournament history.

North Florida struggled on the final day, shooting an 11-over 299 to finish one stroke behind Auburn in second at 863. The annual tournament was contested at the par 72, 6,962 yard Forest Heights Country Club.

The 15-team field battled through winds and rain on the final day of play with Tennessee owning the day's lowest team round with a 7-under 299. The Volunteers' final round moved them from 13th-place to a fifth-place tie to finish. Virginia took third with a team 865 (+1) over three days, while Alabama moved into fourth at 868. Tennessee and Mississippi tied for fifth each at 871 (+7).

At the end of play, three individuals tied for first to force a playoff. Jordan Gibb of North Florida, Jonathan Randolph of Ole Miss and Hunter Hamrick of Alabama battled for individualist honors with Randolph taking the crown launching a birdie on the first hole.

A tough third round dropped Georgia Southern to a 12th-place finish. The Eagles posted a 302 final round to finish with a team 883 for the tournament. Seniors Ryan Zabroske (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Matt Deal (Statesboro, Ga.) led GS on the final day, each carding 2-over 74s. Zabroske finished the tournament in a tie for 30th with rounds of 72, 73 and 74, respectively.

Meanwhile, Deal and junior Joe Monte (Chantilly, Va.) both finished in a tie for 32nd with 220s. Deal completed the tournament with an opening round 72 and final rounds of 74, respectively. Monte, who owned the team's lowest round in the tournament with a second-round 69, closed the tournament with a 77 final round. The junior opened with a 74.

Florian Sander (Bregenz, Austria) and Spence Fulford (Rocky Mount, N.C.) finished tied for 56th with matching 225s. Both opened the tournament with 74s as Sander rounded out the three-day tournament with rounds of 73 and 78. Fulford succeeded a second round 74 with a final round 77.

Competing as an individual, Logan Blondell (Lakeland, Fla.) finished tied for sixth on the leaderboard. Blondell responded to an opening round 1-under par 71 with a 4-under par 68 in round two. The junior closed out the tournament with a 2-over 74 for a three-day total 213 (-3).

Georgia Southern returns to the course at the Augusta State Invitational, April 3-4.
