In his first season as Georgia Southern head coach, Willie Fritz guided the Eagles to a Sun Belt Championship in their inaugural season at the FBS level.  Georgia Southern finished the season with a 9-3 mark, including a perfect 8-0 run through Sun Belt competition.

Thanks in large part to that success, Fritz has already earned himself a raise. Fritz will now receive an additional $100,000 on his compensation for radio and television obligations. Combined with his base salary of $300,000, Fritz will be guaranteed of making at least $500,000 in the upcoming season.

In addition to the Eagles’ Sun Belt championship, Fritz won the conference’s Coach of the Year award for the 2014 season. Fritz previously won the AFCA Coach of the Year award in 2011 and was named Liberty Mutual FCS Coach of the Year in 2012.
