Robert Dell Lundy, 74, of Statesboro, Georgia, transitioned from life on Earth to his everlasting home with the Lord on Friday, April 21st, 2023. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Memorial Health Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, after a brief illness.
He retired from Statesboro Custom Service and Sales, Inc., after 40-plus years of dedication.
He was a member of Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Statesboro, Ga.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Barbara Hawkins Lundy of Statesboro, Georgia; children, Robert Carlos (Auteas) Lundy of Chesapeake, Virginia; Shannon Marie (Frank) Lundy of Severn, Maryland; and his grandson, whom he raised as a son, Aaron Blake (Destinee) Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Robert Carlos Lundy Jr., Anayah Lundy and Adrian Lundy of Chesapeake, Virginia; beloved sisters, Bertha Shoemaker of Statesboro, Ga.; Sherby Lundy of Glennville, Ga.; Vickie Consonery of Statesboro, Ga.; Doretha Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; Michelle (Wayne) Adams of Warner Robins, Ga.; brothers, Oliver Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; Lamar Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; Simeon (Linda) Lundy of Statesboro; James (Cheryl) Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; and Ronnie (Neicey) Lundy of Corpus Christi, Texas; special friend, Eddie Tremble of Statesboro, Ga.; and Ulysesses Armstrong of Statesboro, Ga. He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 6 until 7 p.m. in the Statesboro Chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Homes, Inc.
The celebration of life service was held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Agape Worship Center, 810 West Grady Street Extension, Statesboro, GA 30458 with Elder Donald Chavers, pastor, and the Rev. Curtis Lemons, eulogist. Interment was at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 197 Antioch Church Road, Brooklet, GA 30415.
