Gerald "Jerry" Robbins
Gerald "Jerry" Robbins, 80, long-time resident of Statesboro, passed away February 25, 2021, after a short illness at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
Jerry was a long-time resident of Bulloch County and business owner of Robbins Mechanical Contracting and Main Street Storage. While calling Bulloch County home, his heart was always in neighboring Screven County, where he spent most of his life with family and friends enjoying the outdoors.
Jerry had many passions. Flying was an early passion of his, spending many tranquil years in the sky and on occasion, dragging his wheels through treetops.
Jerry was a founding member of the Bulloch Bowmen and spent over 50 years with the group enjoying fellowship, hunting and fishing trips all over the Southeast.
Jerry was a master mason and member of Ogeechee Lodge #213 and was proud to call the members brothers.
Jerry was the Real McCoy, an original that never met a person that did not call him a friend after talking with him a few minutes. He always had a tall tale or a funny story that left you laughing and leaving with a smile on your face. He will be missed.
Jerry is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Maxine Robbins; his sons, Jeff Robbins (Denise) and Barry Robbins (Judi); his daughter, Jeri Lisa Robbins; four grandchildren, Matthew Robbins (Bri), Anna Moughalian (Matthew), Abby Robbins and Jordan Robbins; and two great-grandchildren, Piper Mae and Harper Lee.
The graveside service will be Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Double Heads Baptist Church in Sylvania, Georgia, with Brother Wendell Edenfield Jr. officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Robbins, Matthew Robbins, Carlton Robbins, Craig Evans, George Robbins and Thomas Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Bulloch Bowmen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ogeechee Riverkeeper at
Deal Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
