Ms. Retha Mae Lester
Ms. Retha Mae Lester, age 62, passed into rest Friday, July 27, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Ethel Mae Watson Edwards.
    At an early age, she became a member of the Simmons Branch Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended until her health failed.
    She is preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Lee.
    Survivors are her father, Hollowed Lester, Miami, Fla.; seven brothers, Lumark (Lisa) Edwards, Larry (Lisa) Edwards, Atlanta, Ga.; Willie Ray (Tangela) Edwards, Rufus Lester, Lee Willie Lester and Roger Lester, all of Miami, Fla.; and Robert Dale Lester, Sweden; four sisters, Bonnie Lester, Arizona; Bernsteine Hollman, Delray, Flaa.; Rosa Lee Lester, Miami, Fla.; and Lorraine Caraballo, Tampa, Fla.; aunts, Barbra (Clifford) Taylor, Elnora Hill and Rosa Mae Bradshaw, all of Statesboro, Ga.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    The family received friends on Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
    The funeral service for Ms. Lester will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc., with the Rev. Joe H. Herrington officiating. Burial will be in the Simmons Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
