Statesboro, Ga. — Mrs. Machelle Key Benemon, age 56, passed away Friday September 28, 2018, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro following a long illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a graduate of Statesboro High School and Ogeechee Technical College. Machelle had been a care giver to the sick and elderly until her health failed.
She was a member of Stevens Temple Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord.
Machelle was preceded in death by her parents, Winton Key, Sr. and Janie Huff Key.
Surviving are her husband, Emory Benemon of Statesboro; a faithful and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Marquita Key of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Terriana, Zachariah, Tyler and Zoey Key all of Statesboro; her four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Arjean and Ivory Holland of Brooklet, Linda Bellamy of Macon, Billie Goldwire of Statesboro, Yvette and Darryl McClenton of Milledgeville and a brother and sister-in-law, Jeremiah and Daisy Key of Brooklet. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 1, 2018, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 2, 2018, at noon at Stevens Temple Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord with Bishop Moses Lewis as eulogists and Pastor Robert Cooper, presiding.
Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
