STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Troy Laircey, age 71, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Candler in Savannah.
    The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1965 graduate of Marvin Pittman High School. Following graduation, Troy began his career in maintenance. He worked for over 30 years with ITT Grinnell and later for Braswell Foods, where he retired following five years of service.
    He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Sucker Hole Hunting Club in Jenkins County.
    He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Friendship Baptist Church.
    Troy loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Nancy Hilda Hendrix Laircey; and a son, Troy Bryan Laircey.
    Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Charlotte Ballard Laircey of Statesboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Leanne and Jack Thompson of Clito and Sonya Laircey Naylor of Brooklet; two stepsons, Craig Murray and Amanda of Canton and Chad Murray and Felicia Barefoot of Statesboro; nine grandchildren, Breanna Thompson, Avery Thompson, Joseph Naylor, Kristi Dais, Diana Brown, Lauren Murray, Margot Murray, Samantha Murray and Brooke Murray; four great-grandchildren, Will and Bryan Brown and Jaxson Troy and Myles Dais; a sister, Raenell Laircey of Statesboro; a sister-in-law and her daughter, Angie and Marie Brannen of Millen; and many friends, including Johnny Lanier, Freddie Hendrix and Jimmy Kenan.
    The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
    The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlton Hendrix officiating. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers will be Freddie Hendrix, Mark Anderson, Johnny Lanier, Jimmy Kenan, Bill Sadler, Avery Thompson, Joseph Naylor and Wesley Hendrix.
    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
