Mr. Kerry Hendrix, age 56, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, June 17th, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was a Bulloch County native.
At an early age, he joined the Summer Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a musician for many years. Kerry later joined Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church and had been a faithful member for over 10 years. Kerry served in the music ministry as a bass guitarist. He also played for the Brotherhood Community Male Chorus, Piney Grove Male Chorus and the Sons of Emmaunel.
He had a love for cooking and eating good food, therefore, he graciously accepted to lead the Kitchen Ministry at the Second St. John Baptist Church.
He was a 1979 graduate of Statesboro High School and a graduate of Auburn University of Auburn, Alabama, with an associate's degree in dietary services. He was a self-employed landscaper. He enjoyed playing his guitar with many choirs throughout the community and abroad.
He is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Gloria W. Hendrix of Statesboro, Ga.; his loving daughters, Danielle Buford of Grovetown, Ga.; and Jessica Farr of Statesboro, Ga.; his loving grandchildren, Laya White and Dylan White, both of Grovetown, Ga.; Corey Cone, Me'Khi Palmer and Weston Farr, all of Statesboro, Ga.; a loving sister, Ms. Debra Hendrix of Indianapolis, Ind.; a loving brother, Mr. James Russell Hendrix of Indianapolis, Ind.; a special friend, Mrs. Cynthia McNair of Grovetown, Ga.; a loving nephew, Jubril Mimiko of Indianapolis, Ind.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Mr. Kerry Hendrix will be Friday, June 22, 2018, from noon-8 p.m. at the Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel.
The homegoing celebration for Mr. Kerry Hendrix will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the Second Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, 1212 McDougald Memorial Parkway, Statesboro, GA, with the Rev. Raphele Smith, presiding; and the Rev. Craig R. Tremble, eulogist/pastor. Interment will be held in Summer Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Kerry Hendrix will lie in state from noon until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
