STILSON, Ga. -- Mr. Edward Jeffrey Blitch, age 57, died Saturday, September 29, 2018, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility in Statesboro.
    The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1979 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. Jeffrey attended college in Beaufort, South Carolina, for several years, returning to the family farm, where he continued his career as a lifelong farmer. Additionally, Jeffrey worked at Fort Howard in Rincon for nine years.
    He was a member of Old Fellowship Baptist Church in Stilson.
    Jeffrey was preceded in death by his brother, Kevan Ashton Blitch.
    Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Donna Marie Lewis Blitch of Stilson; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn Maria MacGregor and Senior Master Sgt. Douglass MacGregor, USAF, stationed in Altus, Oklahoma; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Judson and Ashley Blitch of Stilson; four grandchildren, Shi Ann and Talon Kaiden MacGregor and Ally Ann and Edward Brantley Blitch; his parents, Edward Jacob Blitch and Winona Hursey Blitch of Stilson; and five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Dianne Bath of Stilson, Joy and Daniel Lee of Brooklet, Melanie and Marc Mickleboro of Atlanta, Kim and Grady Hughes of Anderson, S.C.; and Melissa Kight of Stilson. Many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
    The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
    The funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Old Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. John Parker and the Rev. Mel Shuman officiating.
    The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
    Interment will be in the church cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Beaver officiating.
    Pallbearers will be Mike Doggart, Blake Edenfield, Kenneth Knight, Tommy Rushing, Charles Conner, Matt Conner, Jarret Bath and Mark Bowen.
    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
