STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Benjamin Bethea Hodges Jr., age 71, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
    The Bulloch County native was a 1966 graduate of Statesboro High School and graduate of Georgia Southern College with a degree in marketing.
    He was an avid deep-sea fisherman and billiards player.
    Mr. Hodges was also a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Thibadeau (Brian), Carmel, Ind.; son, Benjamin Hodges III (Savannah), Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Oliver Thibadeau, Amelie Thibadeau, Vivienne Thibadeau, August Thibadeau and Emmett Thibadeau; sisters, Lucille Zetterower (Owen), Statesboro; and Diane Simms (Mark), Statesboro; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    A gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018, from 10-11 a.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
    The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating. Burial to follow in Eastside Cemetery.
