Police arrested a woman they say stabbed a man, then arrested the victim as well, said Statesboro Police Capt. L. C. Williams. The incident took place in the presence of a small child.
Officers were called to Deluxe Inn June 14 in response to a reported domestic dispute and found a woman standing in front of an apartment holding "two bloody knives," he said. Det. Ken Scott investigated the incident and learned Lisa Boyd Holmes, 36, Deluxe Inn,  had stabbed Jessie Lee Holmes, 28, Jewel Street, Sylvania, in the hand, he said.
Officers charged Ms. Holmes with aggravated assault (family violence) and charged Mr. Holmes with battery (family violence), Williams said. Both were also charged with third degree cruelty to children since the altercation took place in front of a small child, he said.
Mr. Holmes' hand injury was treated at the hospital and upon his release, he was taken to the Bulloch County Jail. Ms. Holmes was also taken to jail, where both remained Friday without bond, according to jail records.
