Two Bulloch women killed in morning accident

A two-car collision Friday morning near Statesboro killed two women and hurt a man, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Edna Pepper, 80, of Brooklet South in Brooklet; and Pauline Marsh, 60, of Clyo-Kildare Road in Newington, both died after Marsh’s Hyundai Sonata crossed over the center lane on U.S. 80 East near Pretoria-Rushing Road, hitting the Ford Ranger in which Pepper was a passenger, GSP Trooper 1st Class Eric Wilkes said.
Paul Pepper, 79, was driving the truck. He wore a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Neither woman was wearing a seat belt, Wilkes said.
The accident occurred around 9:57 a.m. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene, and Paul Pepper was taken to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment.
