A woman was arrested Tuesday morning after reportedly stabbing a man in the arm, police said.
Alexis Amber Jones, 22, of Blakewood Apartments, is charged with aggravated assault/family violence, according to a press release issued by Statesboro Police Deputy Chief Rob Bryan, interim police chief.
Officers met with the victim at East Georgia Regional Medical Center around 6:30 a.m. and opened an investigation, he said.
“Through the investigation, the officers learned that the victim was arguing with … Jones at an apartment in Blakewood Apartments (on East Olliff Street) and that Jones stabbed the victim once with a knife in the arm,” he said.
Around 7 a.m., officers located and arrested Jones without incident and took her to the Bulloch County Jail, where she awaits further court action, he said.
This case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau and assigned to Detective Kevin Weatherly.
