Each year, Georgia high schools send drill cadets to compete in the 6th Brigade JROTC state drill meet. The state meet was held earlier this month in Augusta.

There are 110 JROTC programs throughout the state; 65 of the 110 were invited to compete in state after placing in their regions. There are eight evaluated events and each team is judged on the precision and ability to execute commands given by the drill commander. Southeast Bulloch High School placed first in two of the eight events and sixth in one event.

Cadet First Sergeant Eric Anderson, a sophomore, led his Regulation Armed Squad team to a state championship, scoring 1,648 points out of a possible 1,705.
