After receiving a tip about possible drug activity taking place at a residence at The Pointe at Southern apartments, members of the Statesboro Police Department Crime Suppression Unit investigated and ended up arresting five on drug charges Tuesday, according to reports.
While CSU Det. Sgt. Rob Bryan said the case remains active and additional details are not being released because of the ongoing investigation, four of the five arrested were charged with growing marijuana, according to reports.
Bryan did not say where any marijuana may have been grown or whether any illegal drugs were seized.
The following suspects, all with a Statesboro Place Circle address, were charged with manufacturing marijuana, marijuana possession, and possession and use of drug related objects: Brendan Alexander Parker, 18;  Miguel Antonio Cortes, 18; William Clyde Moore, 20; and Errington David Newby, 20.
Felipe Mejia, 20, also of Statesboro Place Circle, was charged only with marijuana possession.
The suspects were taken to the Bulloch County Jail where they later posted bond, according to jail records.
