A 14-year-old Portal boy was killed Saturday afternoon in a four-wheeler accident on Harold Howell Road.

A memorial event was held Sunday for Matthew Trenton "Trent" Graham, with a balloon release at Portal Middle High School.

According to Georgia State Patrol Post 45 reports, Graham was driving the four-wheeler, with two other 14-year-old boys as passengers, on Harold Howell Road around 3 p.m. Saturday when he entered a curve in the roadway and lost control of the 2012 Polaris Ranger. The four-wheeler rotated counter-clockwise for about 84 feet, then turned clockwise for another 28 feet before overturning and leaving the roadway, traveling an additional 16 feet before entering the woods, reports stated.

One passenger jumped off the four-wheeler, but Graham and the other passenger were ejected, reports said.

Graham was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers suffered minor injuries, according to reports.
